The Lake Bitch is a talking Yorkshire Terrier from the Ice Moon, Yahell, also known as "Nymie" to her friends.[2] She manages a shop on the island of Amazon in the middle of the lake.[1]
The Lake Bitch adopted Lady Lance-In-Slot when she was four years old. She had been abandoned by her parents because the expense to turn her into a cyborg, to save her life from the cancer that had metastasized throughout her body was too much to handle. The Lake Bitch paid for her treatment, and made four year old Lady Lance-In-Slot pay her back by ho-ing out.[3]
The Lake Bitch has also taken in Marjorie, a dog-like woman who has trouble communicating through speech, only identifiable by her dog-tags. Marjorie was at her shop the day that Arty Davis and Murray came to buy a new weapon.[2]
The Lake Bitch appears to be friends with Murray, as he calls her "Nymie", and familiar enough with him for them to banter about his store credit - or lack thereof.[2]
The Lake Bitch is not impressed with Arty when he first arrived at her shop, calling himself a Pimpmaster without even a cane or furry jacket to speak of. The fact that he had broken the Glock from the Rock didn't help matters either. It was only Lady Lance-In-Slot's endorsement that convinces The Lake Bitch to sell him a weapon - specifically the 447 Caliburn Xtra Automatic laser assault rifle, from the Excalibur series.[4]
